How to Set Up Discount
From the online Square Dashboard:
- Log into the Square Dashboard using your computer
- Go to top left corner to access the three lines and click "Items"
- From here, click "Discounts"
- Click the blue button on the right hand side that says "Create a Discount"
- Enter discount details
- discount name, dollar amount (be sure you select this for your amount type, NOT a percentage), and applicable locations if need be
- Click Save
From the online Square App:
- Use your Square App on your business' tablet
- Tap the three horizontal lines that says "More" in bottom right corner of the tablet
- Click Items
- Click Discounts -> Select the grey/blue button that says "Create Discounts"
- Enter discount details
- discount name, dollar amount (be sure you select this for your amount type, NOT a percentage), and applicable locations if need be
- Click Save
Once discount is set up, it can be accessed and applied from item library.
Note: Leave Amount field blank if you’d like to be able to create a variable discount
How to Pull Data
- Log into the Square portal
- Click on the three lines in the top left corner of your screen
- Click on Transactions on the left side of the page (inside the Account & Settings menu)
- Set the month filter to correct month
- Click on export in the top right corner for “Transactions CSV"
- Send whole month's data to accounts@letsgetoffline.com
- We'll filter out the Offline transactions
- Note: the numbers we will use to calculate the data are Gross Sales and Discounts.
- "Total collected" includes tax & tip, so this is not the correct data for the reports.
If you DO NOT wish to send us all of your whole month's worth of data and would like to filter out JUST Offline discounts, follow these steps:
- Under the date range, click the button to filter and select "Discount"
- To the box to the right, type your discount name (most likely "Offline")
- It will filter all your transactions to just be Offline discounted transactions
- Click on export in the top right corner for “Transactions CSV"
- Send your data to accounts@letsgetoffline.com

- Enable service charges from your online Square Dashboard:
- Go to Settings > Business Information > Service Charges.
- Enable a fixed percentage service charge or a manual service charge. You'll want to label the service charge as "Offline" or "Offline Auto Grat" (something that you prefer).
- Click Save.
